Recommended Camera Settings for OneShot 360™

After Attaching the OneShot360 unit, and powering the camera on:

Zoom: Use the Zoom to exactly fill the digital camera LCD viewer screen
with the circular image. Use the zoom (T) rocker button on the left side of
the camera lens. If you zoom in too much, you will lose part of the field of
view. If you zoom in too little, you will not get maximum resolution. Note
also that the OneShot image may not be exactly centered in the LCD
screen – this is normal.

Flash: Make sure the flash is disabled. Press the flash arrow on the
control button (lightning bolt symbol) located above the LCD screen on the
back of the camera. Press the button until you see the “flash off” icon on
the LCD.

Focus: To focus your OneShot image with the Sony DSC-F707/DSC-
F717, slide the Focus switch on the left side of the camera lens to Manual.
Turn the focus ring on the camera lens until the desired distance is shown
on the LCD panel. We recommend a setting of 3 meters (or 9 3/4 ft.)

Aperture Priority Mode: Put your Sony DSC-F707 in aperture priority
mode by turning the top mode dial to A, the symbol for aperture priority.

Aperture: Adjust the Jog Dial (in front of the shutter button) left/right to
select the f-stop (it will turn yellow in the LCD display). Press down on the
jog dial, release, and then turn it left/right to adjust to an f-stop of f-8.

Self-timer: Select the self-timer by pressing the “down” arrow above the
self-timer symbol on the Control button. You will need to select self-timer
for each image that you take.

NOTE: You can use shutter priority mode, as long as you use a shutter speed
that gives you the desired f# of 8. Also, make sure you are using a tripod when
shooting with a slow shutter speed.

Press the MENU button and use arrow buttons to:

Image Size: Under the Image Size menu, set the image size to
2560x1920 for best quality.

Image Quality: Under the P.Qual menu, set the picture quality to Fine.

ISO Sensitivity: Under the ISO menu, set the sensitivity to 100.

Sharpness: In the Sharpness menu, set the sharpness of the image to 0.

The Overall Look of the Sony DSC F707 Camera

It is such a state that we will talk about the specification first before hitting the manual. So, in this writing, we will save the Sony DSC F707 Manual PDF for the last. And for now, we will talk about the specification of this Germany-made camera, starting with the overall look of it first.

As shown in the Sony DSC F707 manual, the design of F707 is chunky and bulky. Sony F707 weighs 667 g and has external dimensions of 162 x 124 x 68 mm. Considering that the average weight of Compact type cameras is 187g, Sony F707 is a significantly heavy camera for its class. With a thickness of 68mm, it is not small either, 39mm thicker than the average of its class.

Moreover, Sony DSC F707 manual also says that this camera doesn’t have any environmental sealings on its body so you got to be extra careful to protect it against water and dust. This model has one color choice, silver. The F707 offered an unusual camera-to-lens ratio, which at first seemed unwieldy. But when you stopped fighting the F707’s unconventional design, you found a camera that was surprisingly comfortable to use.

The Specification of Sony DSC F707

Sony Dsc F707 Memory Stick

What is the DSC F707 This camera is of course an old digital camera came out the market in 2001. This model becomes a history as the first “Night Vision” digicam, incorporating NightShot technology (borrowed from Sony’s consumer camcorder line) and NightFraming IR mode for low-light and “no light” framing and shooting. Add to that a Hologram Autofocus feature that zeros in on difficult low-light, low-contrast subjects, and you’ve got one heck of cool camera.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F707 is a 5.0MP Small Sensor Compact camera with a 2/3″ (8.8 x 6.6 mm ) sized CCD sensor. The lens used in this type is 9.7-48.5mm Carl ZeissVario-Sonnar lens, equivalent to a 38-190mm lens on a 35mm camera . You can shoot at maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels with aspect ratios of 4:3 and 3:2. F707 has a native ISO range of 100 – 400 and it can save files in RAW format which gives you a wider room for post processing.

As shown in the Sony DSC F707 manual, the camera was capable of focusing in total darkness thanks to a Hologram AF feature, which throws a Class 1 laser pattern onto its subject and uses that to acquire focus. One of the highlight of this model is that this camera has Night Framing and Night Shot modes, flipping the Infrared filter out of the way and engaging two IR lamps on the front of the lens.

The image on the LCD will turn green. NightShot mode actually took ‘green’ photos which is of limited use. Night Framing, on the other hand, can capture regular colorphotos in totaldarkness. Then, for the monitor, this camera uses 1.8-inch color LCD monitor.
