Ipilp-lc User Manual Two Beeps

I ordered disks from HP and received 3 disks in the mail. I just got my new hard drive (the old one was way past gone. I'm not sure how it held on for so long) and replaced the HDD. I booted up and was given a black screen asking me 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media ins selected boot device and press a key' so I put in disk 1. I got a 'windows is loading files' screen, and then a blue screen with a ray pattern on it,
The recovery manager booted up, I told it I wanted to factory reset, and hit next, and then it asked if i wated to restore the system to factory settings and I hit yes, and then next. Then it tells me to insert disk 1 (which is already in) and they tray pops out, so I push it back in and the mouse gets the little CD icon next to it and I hear the disk tray going. The message goes away and then the tray opens again a second later and tells me to put in disk 1.. >_<
I tried disk 2 and 3 thinking maybe they were misprinted. I have NO idea why this isn't working. I even went into the setup menu and it definitely is set to boot from disk drive..
Tips, tricks, hints, advice? The computer was given to me a while back so it doesn't have HP support anymore and I can't find anything by Googling.
This question was solved.

I went from a 500gb to 1T (yay sale!) so I'm covered on that front.
Went into the BIOS screen and there is definitely something listed where you'd find the HDD name. That link includes the same instructions that came with my disks. But thanks! I bookmarked it. Paper gets lost easy here.
When I get to the recovery manager and try to go from 'do you want to factory reset' to 'heck yeah let's do this thing!' it tells me to insert disk 1. Which is already in.. I spent some time closing the disk tray a few dozen times after it opened. I figured hey, why not, maybe it's just being stubborn. Nope. I know it works too, I just used it this morning. The disks were never removed from their packaging until the second I needed them, so I know they are not damaged.

  • My Compaq presario SR1330NX desktop computer which has XP. Years ago I accidentally deleted the recovery partition. I ordered the recovery disks. I have done successful recoveries with them. Although it has been years. I did a recovery from disk. I dont think I did it correctly as it had been a while. Anyway, It never asked me for the 2nd disk, but it said the recovery was successful and to restart the computer. I thought that maybe it had made its own new recovery partition when using the disks before. So I restarted the computer and all I get is a black screen with compaq on it and some weird symbols in the left upper corner that look like
    >triangle,Divide sign,Square,upside down t with a line under it,zero and a weird looking capital B'.
And it does NOTHING. I put disks in it does nothing. This is the only screen that comes up and nothing else works. What did I do? and How can I fix this?

Hello tinkyferret, The HP Recovery Restore disk set makes a new Recovery Partition when they are used to recover the system.
You might try the HP Recovery Restore procedure from the hard drive, if you have not, and see if it wil complete successfully.
Normally on a Compaq system, you press the F-10 key to enter the Recovery Restore utility.

  • Hi,
Really hoping someone can assist me obtaining the Realtek High Definition Audio driver for the Compaq Presario SR1429UK desktop.
I've obtained a second hand SR1429UK and it has been rebuilt but I have been unable to install the audio driver. I've tried downloading it from the compaq site but the sp26552.exe update driver which is available does not work and reports errors on installation. From the Compaq site, the only available driver is the update driver and there is no available download of the 'original' driver which is sometimes available for other models.
I've tried using the other SR1429 drivers (ES, FR, IT, NX etc) but they don't seem to be compatible.
I also don't have to the recovery disk or compaq application recovery installed as it's a clean WinXP Pro build.
ANy ideas where else I can obtain this driver?
    Cheers, Jeremy

    Hi,
It seems you are trying to download the driver update of the audio drivers. Please try downloading the original drivers from the following weblink:

  • I want to install a second video card to my Compaq Presario CQ5300F Desktop so I can use two monitors. What card should I get?

Here are the specs for your Compaq Presario CQ5300F Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model supports one VGA output via nVidia GeForce 6150SE onboard integrated graphics. This model also has a PCIe x16 graphics card expansion slot which will accept a PCIe x16 graphics card. According to the specs, installing a discrete graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot will disable the onboard integrated graphics.
The graphics card you purchase must support both monitors you wish to use with your computer. Additionally, most retail graphics cards require a 300 watt or greater system power supply. Currently , your computer has a 250 watt power supply and it will need to be replaced. Please consider the Corsair CX430, CX500, or CX600 series of power supplies to meet the new graphics card power requirements.
Alternatively, if this is mostly for word docs, spreadsheets, day trading and light video, you may wish to consider a USB-to-video adapter such as the eVGA UV Plus+ UV39 or one of the many other adapters on the market.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

  • Hello,I am here today With a problem of Mine that I can't seem to fix on my own.I have the Compaq Presario SR5233WM Desktop PC And I have Not used it In about 10-12 months And I have finnaly turned it on to Try and use it for some stuff and I plugged it in the wall And It starts up normally no beeping sounds or nothing. So After I did that I plugged the Blue video cord into my PC and my monitor And Before this I rememberd My USB ports wouldnt work And I could not test them out again because my video did not seem to work,I had asked around and They said something about my Drivers Need Resseting? I kept on Getting different answers when I ask so I came here. So to sum everything Up. How do I reset my drivers Without Video And/or What is the problem and how to fix it with the ports not working. Thanks for your time.

    Hello again ZhayneW,
Thank you for the updated information on your issue. I would like you to try the steps I am providing you below in order until your graphics return:
Step 1. As you have tried different monitors I would like you to try different cables. The cables that go from your monitor to your computer could be the issue as well. According to the Compaq Presario SR5233WM Desktop PC Product Specifications page your computer has the IPILP-LC (Lancaster8) IPILP-LC (Lancaster8) and has following I/O ports with number 2 being a VGA connection and number 7 being the USB ports you state do not work. If you are using a VGA cord to connect your monitor to the computer that is the cord I would like to see replaced or swapped out with if possible. If you have already done this move on to the next step and ensure you let me know in your next post.
Step 2. Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord and open it up and place your had on the power supply for about 30 seconds to drain any electrical charge you may be holding. Now on the motherboard on the front (opposite the I/O connection indicated above) left hand side you will see the following jumpers:
These are the jumpers you need to use to clear the CMOS on your computer. Now on the off chance that your USB and Intergrated graphics have been disabled in the BIOS I am going to get you to clear the CMOS settings by moving the jumpers to look like the image below:
Leave the jumpers in this position for about 10 seconds and then return them to their original position. Reassemble the computer and do not plug it in until it is totally back together. If this was successful your computer should boot up and your display should be back.
Step 3. At this point the issue appears to be a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options. You could also go to a local computer repair and look to get it repaired as well.
I would like to thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Total WAG: are your home-made data DVDs finalized? I think just about everything these days can handle mulit-session CDs, but IIRC there are some configurations that won't recognize multi-session DVDs.
Like I said, just a WAG.

    Hi:
If you can still read the windows 7 product key on the bottom of your notebook you can make your own W7 installation disk.
    Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

  • I am trying to wipe my iMac's hard drive and restore the computer to factory settings so that I can donate it to a nonprofit with none of my data. However, even though the CD/DVD drive works fine with other CDs/DVDs, when I install the iMac 'Software Install and Restore' disk (#1), the computer isn't able to read it. It doesn't pop up on the desktop and when I try to restart holding down the C key, it doesn't work either. Is there any other way to restore the computer to factory settings?
I inserted the same disk in my laptop and it is readable there, so clearly a problem with the disk drive, but yet it's able to read other disks.. I'm stumped..

Unfortunately, neither of these worked. The problem is that the drive is not reading this disk, for whatever reason. When I tried to reboot from the disk by pressing 'option', I only get the HD as a choice and after attempting to read the install disk, the CD/DVD drive gives up and the drive tray opens. When I tried putting the disk in and going to System Preferences and Startup Disk, the only two choices I get are 'Macintosh HD' and 'Network Startup'. No sign of the disk in the drive. Is there someway to log on to the install disk online, via the web? or to download the software from the web?
What's particularly baffling is that I just used the drive yesterday to burn some photo archives as well as to view some old disks to see what was on there. The drive worked fine then.

  • Longstanding problem. Older iMac won't read the Leopard disk. I got around this by using my daughter's iBook in slave mode and then installing 10.5. Everything works but I can't start up with the disk to use disk utilities. It was suggested that I get a new ext dvd drive which I did. (Kanguru qs2)
I started it up and installed Office for Mac without a problem. Then I tried to use the 10.5 disk and it would not read it. I had a hard time getting the disk to eject. After it did eject I tried using some other disks including Office and none of them work now. Any ideas?

Sounds like your new drive broke.

  • Hi.
Try to do a recovery with the Recovery Discs From HP
When everything is complete and you do a reboot..BOOTMGR is missing
and you need to start over
    Self test is done OK
    Start up test OK
    Need some help her
    clueless

All HP systems came with a recovery partition on the HDD. The only reason it shouldn't be present is if it was removed or if the HDD was replaced. There might be something wrong with the disks themselves. Have they worked previously or was this the first time they were being used?
You could also try using an official Windows 7 ISO using the product key found on the certificate of authenticity on the underside of the notebook. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit can be found here. Make the DVD and proceed to install Windows using it. You would boot from it in the same manner you did the recovery disks. When it comes to activating Windows, you will need to use the phone activation method (it's automated) to use the OEM product key for that system. See DavidPK's answer in this thread for more information.
Using this workaround will get Windows 7 installed. Once that is done, you can install all of the drivers and desired software for your system from here.

  • Hi, when i was installing Windows XP, i accidentally erased my Mac startup disc, and when i try to reinstall Mac OS X, this message comes up 'Alert This software cannot be installed on this computer' and it gives me two options to restart or to change the start-up disk. When i try to change the start-up disk it doesn't read the disk. So i fire the iMac up into Target Firewire Disk mode and connect it to my iBook (Which runs Mac OS X 10.4) and i format it and make sure it is a GUID partition table so that my Intel iMac can read it, but when i restart and go back to the setup it shows the same message and when i go to the startup disk option the setup still does NOT see the drive. !!!!!!!! someone plz help!!!
    Thanks

You seem to know that an Intel Mac requires a drive formatted with a GUID partition table to boot from it, so that much of your scheme should work, even if you are formatting the drive from 10.4.4 via Target Disk Mode with a PPC Mac, as long as you are using a version of Disk Utility that offers the GUID partition table formatting option (in the Partition tab, in the 'Options..' drop down sheet.)
However, it isn't clear if you are then trying to install the OS onto the Intel iMac while still in Target Disk Mode, or which installer you are using. As already explained, you can't install an Intel version of the OS from a PPC Mac while in TDM -- as far as the installer knows, the target is just a drive attached to the PPC Mac, so it will inform you that the Intel OS version can't be used with that Mac.
So, the solution is to make sure the drive is formatted with the GUID table & then install the OS onto the Intel iMac while booting it from the iMac's own installer disk. If necessary, you can access the installer's version of Disk Utility before you begin the installation by selecting it from the 'Utilities' menu & checking or reformatting the drive before the install.
This should work fine, unless for some reason you cannot boot the iMac from its original installer disk. If that is the case, please let us know.
